teapigs was founded in 2006 by Nick Kilby and Louise Cheadle, two
ex tea buyers on a mission to get the nation drinking proper tea
again. Based in Brentford, the brand built its name on whole leaf
quality: real tea leaves, berries, herbs and flowers packed into
roomy pyramid “tea temples” rather than the crushed dust found in
standard bags. It became one of the defining names of the British
premium tea wave and was the first tea company to be certified
plastic free. teapigs is also a certified B Corp, with an ethical
scheme that gives back to the tea growing communities it works
with. Known for its cheerful, slightly cheeky tone, it has grown
from a UK startup into a brand stocked across supermarkets, John
Lewis and cafes, and now sells internationally too.
